Our Club has a tradition of visiting new businesses in our community to welcome them and familiarize our members with their services. The last one I recall in person was to Via Uno, now gone. We did, thanks to Ginger, have introductions to Jupiter & Main and Fattoria e Mare during our Zoom era. I reached out to the recently opened Pilot Light Cafe at Eddie Andreini Sr. Airport about such a visit and got a response from Owner/General Manager Shoshana Wolff welcoming us to meet there for lunch at our next meeting June 23rd.
I invite you and any guest or prospective members to lunch Thursday. We will each order and pay for our own meals which will then be delivered to us at the outdoor picnic table seating. Go to https://pilotlightcafe.com/ to see their menu. I have asked that they give us brief comments about their business and answer questions, plus I will provide a little historical talk about the airport…and will welcome your stories, much like out state visits.

Service Project
A continuation of discussing and identifying a service project! Below are the ideas that were generated at the last meeting. In this meeting, it would be awesome if we could identify which project we would like to research and hopefully move forward with.
Ideas from the last discussion meeting...
Magic of the Coastside
Reimagine this event! With so many nonprofits on the Coastside, sitdown dinner galas are everywhere and costly. How can we change up this event to make it fun, unique, and manageable to plan and deploy?! The Service Above Self Awards would be in there somewhere!
Ideas from many random conversations dating back to 2019...
See you Thursday!
Thank you!! Krystlyn

Hello Wonderful Rotarians!!
Hope to see you at the Library or on Zoom!! The Details... Date - October 20, 2022 Time - 12:00 PM In-Person - HMB Library, 620 Correas St, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019 The Program... A zoom presentation about the HMB Skyway project.
Peter von Bleichert, a business professor at the College of San Mateo, has been visiting Half Moon Bay for decades and is familiar with the issues of Highway 92. “I sat there once for two hours just trying to get to the pumpkin festival.” He’s published books on the work of his great-great-grandfather Adolf Bleichert, who built Germany’s first aerial ropeway in 1872. And last year wrote an article for an industry engineering magazine about how an aerial tramway might work for Half Moon Bay. This got picked up by the San Mateo Daily Journal in a piece that was read by Mayor Debbie Ruddock and led to her inviting him to present to the City Council. Since then the idea has picked up steam. Come learn more.
See you Thursday!

Hello Wonderful Rotarians!!
Hope to see you at the Library!! The Details... Date - November 10, 2022 Time - 12 Noon In-Person - HMB Library, 620 Correas St, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019 Zoom - See Krystlyn's email for login information The Program... Magic of the Coastside - Event Planning
This is where we will begin the planning for the event - OR - deciding if we need to skip the event for my year if there isn't enough interest in volunteering to plan it. We will need at least 10 people (ideally more) to volunteer to plan the event to make it work. Lots of ideas were discussed last Magic meeting as to what might be included for the event, so here is a rough idea of some possible things that will need volunteers to work on...none are set in stone of course until final decisions are made at this meeting as to what the event includes...
- Budget management and sponsorship procurement
- Venue procurement and decorating (discussed spot was the HMB Yacht Club)
- Sandcastle contest planning and deployment
- Foodie cook off planning and deployment
- BBQ dinner with Service Above Self awards, planning and deployment
- If there is an auction, planning, management and deployment
SO! Please attend this meeting in person or via zoom to have your input on the event!!
See you Thursday!
Thank you!!
